Holidays and Festivals
The Renewal Festival is the chief event celebrated by the people of Accord. The passage of a year and the Renewal are marked by the comet known as Helia's Tear travelling across her eye on the final day of Heven. All work is put on hold, and booze and food stores are emptied. The grandest celebrations happen in Arcanum, where the major noble houses compete with one another to put on a greater display.
Calendar
The years are counted by the transit of the sun by Helia's Tear, and are divided into ten months, ordered and named as so:
Alfheim, Asgard, Hel, Jotunheim, Midgard, Muspelheim, Nidavellir, Svartalfheim, Vanaheim, and Heven.
Every odd numbered month has 37 days, the even numbered months have 36.
Years are counted from unification of Accord as an empire under the Church of the Burning Sky at the end of the Ancient Era, and marking the beginning of the Modern Era. Thus, it is currently 13 423.
